About our Co-Op TEAM

Founded in 1978, Countryside Food Co-op, Inc. (CFC) provides low cost, quality food items to area residents and shares the profits with neighboring communities.  CFC is the only all-volunteer Co-op in Minnesota with 180 volunteers who donate thousands of hours each year.  Our annual membership fee of $10.00 and a portion of our profits are donated to approximately 16 organizations and programs within a 20 mile radius of Hackensack.  CFC’s loyal 3,000+ members enjoy a wide selection of spices, cheeses, dried fruits, and other reasonably priced healthy living food choices.

While CFC supports various non-profit organizations, the majority of our donations go to food shelf programs in the communities of Akeley/Nevis, Hackensack, Longville, Pine River/Backus and Walker.  These programs provide free food to area families in need.  During the past year, CFC contributed $12,500 to these organizations and has averaged $12,500 each year over the last five years.

The food shelf programs we sponsor estimate they collectively assist between 1,800 and 2,000 people each month. 

CFC provides affordable food choices that enable children, senior citizens, and Cass County residents to live healthier lives.   CFC’s contributions, derived from our Co-op’s membership fees and a share of our profits, are distributed to area non-profit organizations.  Our sponsorships enable those organizations to touch the lives of thousands of people in our area.
